Se Jong was the 4^th King of the Yi dynasty. He was well known for his great achievements in domestic and foreign affairs, diplomacy, military defense, and culture.

His greatest achievement was the invention of the Korean Alphabet, called the Han Gul. The Alphabet provided Koreans with cultural independence, because prior to that they had no written language of their own.

The diagram represents the symbol "king", and the 24 movements refer to the 24 characters in Han Gul.
